Do you offer same-day service?

Yes — same-day service is our standard. Call us at (669) 369-3795 and in most cases we can have a technician at your door within hours. We operate 24/7 including weekends and holidays.

Can I replace just one broken spring?

Technically yes, but we recommend replacing both springs at the same time. If one spring has broken, the other is typically the same age and will fail soon after. Replacing both at once saves you a second service call and keeps your door balanced.

How much does a garage door repair cost?

Most repairs range from $150 to $350 depending on the issue. Spring replacements typically run $175–$275. Opener repairs range from $100–$200. We provide a flat-rate upfront quote before any work begins — no hourly charges and no hidden fees.

Do you fix broken cables?

Yes. Broken or frayed cables are a safety hazard and should not be ignored. We carry replacement cables on every truck and can typically complete the repair same day. Do not attempt to use the door until cables are repaired.

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Yes. Five Star Garage Door Service Inc. is fully licensed and insured in California. All technicians are factory-trained and background checked. You can have complete confidence in who is working at your home.

How fast can you respond to a garage door emergency in San Jose?

We typically dispatch within 30–60 minutes for emergencies across San Jose and Santa Clara County. Call (669) 369-3795 anytime — we're staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.

Is there a charge for emergency service calls?

We charge a flat service call fee regardless of time of day — no hidden after-hours surcharges. You'll receive a full written quote before we start any repair. Call (669) 369-3795 anytime.

My door is stuck open and my house is unsecured — what should I do?

Call us immediately at (669) 369-3795. While you wait, stay inside or with a neighbor if possible. Our tech will arrive with parts to repair or temporarily secure the door on the same visit.

Can you fix a garage door that came off its track at night?

Yes. A door off its track is one of the most common emergencies we handle. Our trucks carry the hardware needed to re-hang and realign most doors on the spot, day or night.
